Smart Music

We present a web-based cross-platform adaptive music player that combines Spotify API with the collaborative interface of Amazon Web Services (AWS). The application plays back a playlist of music tracks, which is acquired from Spotify based on the general surroundings of a room. This music player determines the genre based on the number of people present which is detected using facial recognition techniques and provides automatic transitions in a playlist if the parameters like count, light intensity or timestamp changes. Our prototype is thus, an effort to stay in line with next generation web technologies, allowing an exercisable generation of novel musical experiences.
